vCard QR Code Generator
Create a vCard 3.0 contact QR with PNG and SVG export
Fill in at least a name to generate the vCard QR.
About this tool
Create a vCard 3.0 contact payload with separate first and last names, one cell-phone number, one email, organization, job title and an HTTP or HTTPS website. At least one name is required so the output includes both FN and N. Name boundaries are trimmed; text-field commas, semicolons, backslashes and newlines are escaped. Website values use URL encoding instead of text escaping. Output uses CRLF and folds long lines at 75 UTF-8 bytes without splitting a Unicode character. The form does not include postal addresses, photos, additional numbers, groups or MeCard output. Input and images stay in browser memory without a saved draft. PNG and SVG use the same successful payload; editing or failed generation removes old downloads. Contact import depends on the receiving scanner and contacts app, so inspect the decoded fields on your target phone before printing or sharing. This tool does not verify a phone number, mailbox or website.
Production Snippets
Name components and text punctuation have different roles
text
First name: Alex
Last name: Example
Organization: Design; East
Website: https://example.com/contact
Relevant unfolded vCard lines:
FN:Alex Example
N:Example;Alex;;;
ORG:Design\; East
URL:https://example.com/contact
The semicolons in N separate components. The escaped semicolon in ORG is part of one organization name.Frequently Asked Questions
Which fields and contact format are supported?
vCard 3.0 with first/last name, one CELL telephone, email, organization, title and website. At least a first or last name is required. Postal addresses, photos, extra numbers and MeCard are not included.
What happens to punctuation and long Unicode fields?
Text punctuation is escaped for vCard, then long lines are folded at 75 UTF-8 bytes. A following line begins with a space; a conforming reader unfolds it. Chinese characters and emoji are not split between physical lines.
Why is a website represented differently from an organization name?
URL is a URI-valued property. The tool accepts HTTP/HTTPS URLs and normalizes them with browser URL parsing. The colon in https: is not backslash-escaped as if it were a text field.
Will scanning save the contact automatically?
The receiving app decides whether to offer an import preview and which fields it supports. Test the downloaded image on the intended phone; generating a valid QR alone does not verify contact import. Some importers can truncate a website containing a comma; check that the imported URL is complete.
Why does a long contact fail or look dense?
QR capacity depends on encoded bytes and error correction. Remove unnecessary fields, increase printed size or choose a lower correction level if appropriate. Higher correction can require more modules and make a fixed-size code denser.
Are my contact fields saved or uploaded?
This tool keeps them in current-page memory, without a saved draft or input-field telemetry. Downloaded PNG/SVG files contain the contact payload and remain on disk after you clear the page.
