How does a WiFi QR code work?
It encodes a special WIFI: payload (SSID, password, security type). When a phone camera scans it, the OS recognizes the format and offers a one-tap connect, so the user never types the password.
Which security types are supported?
WPA/WPA2 (most common home networks), WEP (older networks), and None for open networks. You can also mark the network as hidden.
Will it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The WIFI: format is a de facto standard recognized by the native camera apps on both iOS and Android, as well as most QR scanner apps.
Is my WiFi password sent anywhere?

Why is my QR code not connecting?
Check that the SSID matches exactly (case-sensitive), the password has no trailing spaces, and the security type is correct. Special characters in SSID or password must be escaped with a backslash.
Can I export the QR code as an image?
Yes. You can download a PNG for screen and print, or an SVG for scalable use on posters and signs.
What does the hidden network option do?
It adds H:true to the payload, telling the scanner that the SSID is not broadcast, so the phone prompts to connect even though the network is not visible in the list.
